Nagua
Nagua was my second area of the mission. I spent four and
half months in Arroyo Hondo before I went out to Nagua. I was also
called to be a senior companion and I only was in the mission for
six months. The mission was very young so they had to call a lot of young
missionaries to be senior companions. Spanish was still pretty tough
for me, but me and my companion got along. My companion was Elder Alex
Dubois. We had a rough start together, but after a couple week things
started clicking. We were like best friends and we were enjoying the
work even though we didn't have much success. That area was really cool
and the members were awesome even though the ward was mostly disfuntional.
I also became district leader and trainer while I was out there. My kid in the
mission was Elder Powell, and we had a lot of good times together. One of the
coolest things about Nagua was the district we were in. Elder Derek Smith, another
one of my best friends, was there and all the other missionaries who were my good
friends. Nagua was also on the beach so there was a beautiful sight. I think that Nagua
was one of my favorite areas in the mission.
